High Performing Teams

High performance does not happen by happy coincidence. It is the outcome of a deep understanding of what enables teams to be at their best and ongoing practice to put it into action.

Goldcrest Partners is expert at helping optimise team performance and execute your business strategy more effectively.

At its essence a high performing team is one where the whole is more than the sum of the parts. To the casual observer, it can appear effortless but this belies the reality of the hard work to make it look easy. Understanding team dynamics and the conditions required for an aligned, cohesive and collaborative team environment are essential to work well together and achieve team goals.

Developing your teams to perform at their best and collaborate

Often we have an intuitive sense of how a team is performing but gathering hard evidence establishes the facts and provides valuable insights that are the foundation of team development and enhanced effectiveness.

Goldcrest Partners is expert in evaluating and developing teams. Using our proprietary High Performing Team diagnostic, we are able to identify areas of strength and weakness, enhance individual and collective capability, and galvanise teams on the path towards high performance.

We work with ExCos, functional teams and members of smaller business units to deepen understanding, foster connection and establish the practices essential to good teamwork.

Using the Goldcrest 7 Conditions of a High Performing Team framework, we take leadership teams through a process, which allows them to address the enablers and blockers to high performance. At the end of the process, the team will be better connected to one another and a more effective decision-making body.

The process is as follows:

Phase 1 | Getting to know the team

We will get to know the individuals, their hopes and challenges in the existing environment, and develop an understanding of the potential of the team.

Phase 2 | Conducting an offsite

We will get the team away from the day-to-day and conduct an offsite which often addresses questions such as:

  • Do we fundamentally trust one another?
  • Are we aligned to our vision and strategy as a team?
  • Are we empowered and are we effective in making decisions?
  • Do we know one another well enough to be high performing?
  • Are we good at having healthy debate and disagreement?
  • Are we connected to the outside world beyond the team?
  • Do we learn from our mistakes and successes?

These events are highly interactive, challenging and fun with the team leaving with a renewed understanding of each other, reinvigorated sense of purpose and the energy and motivation to put their experience into practice.

Phase 3 | Rigorous follow up

One of the things that we think differentiates Goldcrest from other service providers is the importance we place on delivering sustained impact from our interventions. Supporting the integration of new practices and ensuring that permanent behavioural change occurs over time, our rigorous follow-up ensures it is embedded and delivers meaningful performance outcomes.
