The Brief
The leader of an investment team at a blue chip, US-based asset manager wanted to develop their investment team to refine personal investment philosophy, deepen understanding of their personal approach to risk and strengthen team performance.
The Engagement
The engagement utilised 2 diagnostics: one to offer insight about personality and the other a specialist tool to develop awareness around personal risk appetite. Goldcrest Partners administered the surveys on behalf of the client and delivered 2 webinars to help the participants interpret their reports. The team then came together for a 1 day, in-person workshop to relate the findings to their investment approach, deepen understanding of each other’s strengths and preferences and create a more cohesive unit.
The Outcome
The project was a great success. There was some scepticism, given previous development activities that fell short. The firsthand experience of the Goldcrest Partners consultant as a portfolio manager made a significant impact, paving the way for a broader rollout and targeted investor coaching.
