The Brief
The leader of an investment team at a blue chip, US-based asset manager wanted to develop their investment team to refine personal investment philosophy, deepen understanding personal approach to risk and strengthen team performance.
The Engagement
The engagement utilised 2 diagnostics: one to offer insight about personality and the other a specialist tool to develop awareness around personal risk appetite. Goldcrest Partner’s administered the surveys on behalf of the client and delivered 2 webinars to help the participants interpret their reports. The team then came together for a 1-day, in-person workshop to relate the findings to their investment approach, deepen understanding of each other’s strengths and preferences and create a more cohesive unit.
The Outcome
The project was a great success. There was some scepticism, given previous development activities that fell short. The first-hand experience of the Goldcrest Partners consultant as a portfolio manager made the difference and the is prospect of a wider roll out and targeted investor coaching.
