6. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the website, remember cookie choices, protect forms and understand website usage. The Cookie Policy below explains what we use, why we use it, and how you can manage your choices.

7. Who we share personal data with

We may share personal data with:

  • Goldcrest members, employees, consultants and advisers who need the information for legitimate Goldcrest business purposes;
  • service providers supporting our website, hosting, IT, security, analytics, cookie-management, email, CRM and administration systems;

  • third parties involved in a reorganisation, merger, transfer or sale of part of our business, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.

Where a third party processes personal data for us, we require it to use the data only for agreed purposes and to apply appropriate security and confidentiality measures.

8. International transfers

Some of our service providers may process personal data outside the United Kingdom or European Economic Area. Where this happens, we use appropriate safeguards, such as UK adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or other legally recognised transfer mechanisms.

9. How long we keep personal data

We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including to meet legal, accounting, reporting and legitimate business requirements. In general:

  • enquiry records that do not lead to an engagement are usually kept for up to 24 months after the last substantive contact;
  • client, supplier and business relationship records may be kept for up to six years after the end of the relevant relationship or last substantive interaction, unless a longer period is required or justified;
  • marketing suppression records are kept as long as needed to ensure we respect opt-outs; and
  • legal, compliance and accounting records are kept for the relevant statutory or limitation periods.

10. Your rights and complaints

Subject to legal conditions and exceptions, you may have the right to ask us for access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion, restriction, portability, objection to processing, and withdrawal of consent where we rely on consent. You also have an absolute right to object to direct marketing.

You may make a data protection complaint directly to us using the contact details above. We will acknowledge a data protection complaint within 30 days and respond without undue delay after investigating it. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK data protection regulator, at www.ico.org.uk.

11. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration. No website, email system or internet transmission is completely secure, so please avoid sending highly confidential or sensitive information through ordinary website forms unless we have agreed a secure method with you.

Similar technologies, such as tracking pixels, local storage, scripts and tags, can also store information on, or access information from, your device.
